Art's Trojan Horse
Mirror
This podcast is a rededication to my creative output. Here is a short poem accompanied by auto-harp. Alongside a back catalogue, there will be new work too.

Mirror
Do you loiter in the mirror?
Do you loiter like a mirror?
Do you flounder in the mirror
At the error of a horror
Waiting for you
Behind the mirror’s silver?
Does your skin turn to leather?
Do you cover with lacquer?
Do you hurry from flapper
To slapper, to slippers?
Are the gravure lines
From old masters
Like the lines
Of life’s loiter?
Do they grow in the mirror?
Do you own this monster?
Do you loiter on all that falters?
Do you titter with the banter
Of youth’s laughter?
What of the after?
Do you cover the cracks
of your life lines?
Is it you or your make up which shines?
Do you hide from your mind’s eye
The last horror in the mirror
of mortician, of reaper?
Your fingers linger
To rub on you the morning dew.
Mourning due, in the mirror.
In the mirror, in the mirror.
